The word “verstehen” in the subtitle of the blog was used by Max Weber to describe a level of understanding that was empathetic, striving to understand another’s perspective through study of their environment and history in addition to the phenomenon presented to him. As I add my perspectives on various themes, they are intended to add to the discussion rather than to instigate controversy. That being said, all comments and perspectives are welcome to this search for verstehen!
